Reference Materials for Refractometry

For reliable refractometer calibration, MilliporeSigma offers a range of different Certipur® refractive index standards. In order to enable you to perform calibration in the same refractive index range as your final measurement, we provide suitable standards for various operating ranges (covering nD20 values from 1.3915 to 1.6160).

Certipur® refractive index standards are supplied as ready-to-use and stable solutions with a minimum shelf life of three years. Our portfolio comprises three refractive index standard kits, each with one of the substances prescribed in the European Pharmacopoeia (chapter 2.2.6) for testing refractometers (trimethylpentane, toluene and methylnaphthalene). Each kit contains 5 x 8 ml ampoules of the respective standard solution and 5 x 8 ml ampoules of water as reference.

All Certipur® reference materials for refractometry are traceable to SRM from NIST and PTB and come with a comprehensive Certificate of Analysis.
