      OverviewThe SMC™ Human Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLP) High Sensitivity Immunoassay Kit contains all reagents required to perform the assay. This assay takes advantage of a standard immunoassay workflow configured in a standard plate format. Assay protocols are similar to existing sandwich ELISA methods with two key differences: 1) Elution buffer disrupts the sandwich, separating the labeled detection antibody for quantification. 2) The Erenna® and SMCxPRO™ immunoassay systems detect analytes using Single Molecule Counting (SMC™) technology.
      Background InformationTSLP is a cytokine produced by epithelial cells and keratinocytes and is critical in the maturation of T cells. TSLP has been shown to be important in diseases including asthma, airway inflammatory disease, atopic dermatitis, eczema, and other allergy related diseases. In addition to its role in allergic disorders, TSLP may also block TH1/TH17 responses which may impact multiple organ systems in disease states, including the promotion of cancer and autoimmunity.
