      Description
      Catalogue Number16-157
      Brand Family Upstate
      Trade Name
      • Upstate
      DescriptionProtein A Agarose/Salmon Sperm DNA, 2.5 mL
OverviewProtein A covalently bound to agarose by alkylamine linkage containing sonicated Salmon Sperm DNA. The salmon sperm DNA blocks non-specific interactions with the beads for use in chromatin IP (ChIP) assays. Note part number 16-157C present in the ChIP kits is not available separately, please purchase 16-157.
      Alternate Names
      • ChIP agarose beads
      • ChIP agaraose A beads
Background InformationProtein A from Staphylococcus aureus has a very high affinity for the Fc regions of IgG molecules. Immoblisation of protein A on beads creates an affinity resin which can be used to purify IgG fractions from crude serum, ascites fluid or cell cuture media.
