Description
Overview
Recognizes the PON1 protein.
Catalogue Number
AP1155
Brand Family
Calbiochem®
Synonyms
Anti-Paraoxonase 1
Application Data
Detection of human PON1 by immunoblotting. Sample: Partial recombinant human PON1 protein. Primary antibody: Anti-PON1 Mouse mAb (2H7) (Cat. No. AP1155) (1-5 µg/ml). Detection: chemiluminescence.
For ELISA, this antibody can be used as the capture antibody; recommended concentration is 10 ng/ml, 1 µg/well, 100 µl total volume. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.

Purified mouse monoclonal antibody. Recognizes the PON1 protein.
Background
Genetic variation in PON1 is associated with susceptibility to diabetic retinopathy; also called microvascular complications of diabetes type 5 (MVCD5). Diabetic retinopathy is a major cause of blindness in diabetic patients. Retinal disease results from adverse effects on the blood vessels which supply the retina.
