The manu-CART® cartridge holder is suitable for LiChroCART® cartridges with internal diameters of 2, 3, 4 and 4.6 mm, as well as lengths of 75, 100, 125, 150 and 250 mm. A coupling unit allows swift and easy coupling of two LiChroCART® cartridges. These instructions describe how to fit the pieces to just one end of your cartridge.
- Insert the cartridge through the endfitting, so that the outer thread is at the outermost end.
- Place 2 split collets around the neck of the cartridge as shown in the figure on the left.
- Place the guard column cartridge inside the space at the end of the collets.
- Push the endfitting up over the assembled guard column cartridge.
- Screw the end cap over the endfitting. Tighten it finger-tight.
- When you install your combined column and guard column into the flow path of your LC, tighten the endfittings leak-tight using a wrench.
