MilliporeSigma offers a broad range of HPLC columns that are fully compliant with USP (United States Pharmacopoeia) specifications. L1 USP columns are described as octadecyl silane, chemically linked to porous silica or ceramic micro particles. Our high-quality L1 USP products deliver reliable, reproducible results – time after time. A perfect example is: LiChrosorb® RP-18 (5 µm).
LiChrosorb® is one of the most successful HPLC packing materials on the market. Its use in thousands of chromatography applications has been documented for more than 35 years. The totally porous irregular particles of LiChrosorb® RP-18 (5 µm) are made of silica with an octadecyl derivative. This highly reliable sorbent is suitable for reversed-phase HPLC of neutral, acidic and weak basic compounds, according to L1 USP specifications.
LiChrosorb® RP-18 (5 µm) sorbents can be packed in various columns and cartridges upon request. For analytical use, we offer LiChroCART® cartridges and Hibar® RT columns in 125x4 or 250x4 mm dimensions. Alternatively, 250x10 mm versions are available for semi-preparative applications.
The LiChroCART® columns (125 and 250 mm length, 4 mm i.d.) require a manu-CART® NT cartridge column holder, which can be used to hold one cartridge column with or without a 4×4 mm guard column.
Hibar® columns are supplied complete with endfittings. When using a guard column with a Hibar® column, we recommend a guard column cartridge holder for 4×4 mm LiChroCART® guard column cartridges.
