Residue-free cleaning with Extran^®

Residue-free cleaning is essential for reliable processes – this applies to both laboratories and production facilities. These requirements have been met by EMD’s Extran^® cleaning agents . 
As international and national laws and regulations are becoming more strict, many facilities are increasingly dependent on being able to prove residue-free cleanliness. EMD’s new application aid to prove freedom from residues of non-ionic surfactants with photometric determination is designed specifically to test Extran® cleaners MA01, MA02, MA03 and AP22. Furthermore a validation report to determine Extran^®  MA01, AP12 and AP21, based on the proof of phosphate ions is now available.

Specifically developed for use in laboratories

Extran®  is a general-purpose cleaning agent. It has no inhibitory effect on enzyme tests, is free from scents and dyestuffs, does not contain chlorine or other highly toxic ingredients thus helping to prevent smell nuisance and protect personal health. Furthermore, it is produced under strictly controlled conditions and fulfills the requirements of environmental protection. The active ingredients are biodegradable. Extran® has been specifically developed for use in laboratories, although it can also be used in production facilities. Moreover it is often used in pharmaceutical laboratories as it is a reliable cleaning agent of consistent composition, so customers have the advantage of not having to frequently modify their processes and applications. The standard operating procedures of many companies require proof of residue-free cleanliness of the cleaning agents they use. For this purpose EMD’s new photometric and phosphate determination methods provide a practical, easy to perform cleaning validation support.

Dosing is important

Accurate dosing of the cleaning agent is precondition for the best possible and reliable cleaning results while at the same time ensuring economy of use. Too weak and cleaning is inadequate, too strong and residues will be left behind. EMD offers an easy to use 1 liter bottle with a measuring aid to support effective dosing and safe handling in manual cleaning. The reusable measuring aid can be ordered separately on request.

Larger packing units, such as the 10 liter and 25 liter cans, are used for cleaning equipment. To ensure safe working conditions it is important that cans are spray-safe and connected tightly to the machines. Worldwide differences in cleaning equipment and connection systems inspired EMD to provide its customers with a universal adapter. This enables different types of machines to be connected safely to any of EMD’s cleaning containers, avoiding spillages and increasing user safety. The tight connection prevents any external contamination ensuring reliable cleaning.
