Benzonase® endonuclease for DNA and RNA removal
Removing DNA and RNA upstream can improve downstream processing later on – and the only effective biochemical method is enzymatic cleavage, using our Benzonase® endonuclease.
Benzonase® is a unique, genetically-engineered endonuclease that is not of animal origin, and is only available from EMD Millipore. Produced from E.coli, this non-specific, recombinant endonuclease cleaves all kinds of DNA and RNA variants into fragments that comprise <10 soluble base pairs. This leads to an utmost minimum of nucleic acid load, and hence to an acceptable lower viscosity of the process fluid.
Benzonase® has several advantages over conventional methods of removal:
- Highest purity
We manufacture Benzonase® endonuclease using state-of-the-art production techniques and standards. The result is a top quality product that enables the highest possible purity standards for your biopharmaceuticals. - Wide range of applications
Benzonase® endonuclease has an exceptionally high level of specific activity for nucleic acids without any detectable proteolytic activity. It is effective in a wide range of operating conditions and applications, including the following: - Reduced process time
Benzonase® endonuclease has proven its value in the laboratory, and in many processes throughout the vaccine, biopharmaceutical and biotechnological industry. - Enhanced productivity
By ensuring higher purity, higher recovery and easier scale-up, Benzonase® endonuclease helps maximize the productivity of your entire production process.
• purification of vaccines, proteins and other biologicals
• reduction of viscosity caused by nucleic acids
• sample preparation in electrophoresis and chromatography.
