Full-length, recombinant, human NEK2 fused at the N-terminus to GST and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. Human NEK2 is closely related to the Aspergillus nidulans NIMA protein kinase, which is required for entry into mitosis. Two splice variants of NEK2, NEK2A and NEK2B, have been identified. Both NEK2A and NEK2B are cell cycle-regulated protein kinases that are localized to the centrosome.
