Recombinant, rat JNK3 expressed in E. coli. Involved in the cellular responses to stress signals such as UV irradiation, heat shock, and protein synthesis inhibitors by phosphorylating and enhancing the transcriptional activity of c-Jun. Other possible substrates of JNK include ATF2, MBP, and p53. Useful for the identification and characterization of JNK substrates and upstream activators of JNK. Capable of autophosphorylation.
