Full-length, recombinant, human IKKβ (amino acids 1-756) (GenBank target symbol= IKBKB, ACC No. NM_001556) fused at the N-terminus with His•Tag® and S•Tag™ sequences and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. IKKβ is the principal kinase responsible for phosphorylating IκBα, the regulatory subunit of NF-κB transcription factor. Phosphorylation of IκBα leads to its ubiquitination and proteasome degradation, which allows results in the rapid translocation of NF-κB to the nucleus and transcriptional activation of NF-κB-dependent genes.
