Recombinant, human extracellular domain of ErbB2 (amino acid residues Met1-Thr652) fused to the C-terminal His•Tag® Fc region of human IgG1 via a peptide linker and expressed in NSO cells. ErbB2 is a type I membrane glycoprotein that is a member of the ErbB family of tyrosine kinase receptors. ErbB family members serve as receptors for the EGF family of growth factors. ErbB2 has no identified ligands, rather it heterodimerizes with other members for the ErbB family to form signaling complexes. ErbB2 appears to play roles in development, cancer, communication at the neuromuscular junction and regulation of cell growth and differentiation. The calculated molecular mass is 96.8 kDa; as a result of glycosylation, the recombinant protein migrates at ~131 kDa under reducing conditions.
