The ClearSpin™ Filter is a novel, disposable spin filtration device especially designed to aid the clarification of bacterial lysates in plasmid purification procedures. The neutralized lysate is centrifuged at 10,000 × g for five minutes and the supernatant is decanted into a ClearSpin Filter to recover the clarified lysate. This procedure can save up to 40 minutes over standard methods and it eliminates the need for 20,000 × g spins. The ClearSpin Filter fits into a standard 50-ml conical tube (included) for easy collection of filtrates and is compatible with protocols for processing 100-ml cultures.
