Recombinant, human BTK fused at the N-terminus to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. BTK is a cytoplasmic non-receptor tyrosine kinase expressed in most hematopoietic tissues. It is critical for B-cell development and function and was recently identified as the defective gene in human X-linked agammaglobulinemia and murine X-linked immunodeficiency. The BTK family of kinases is best known for the presence of a pleckstrin homology domain at the N-terminal region. Useful in the study of enzyme regulation and kinetics, in vitro kinase assays, and inhibitor screening.
