This compound was originally isolated from the marine ascidian Eudistoma sp. Displays potent inhibitory activity against CDK4/D1 (IC50 = 59 nM). Also acts as a potent inhibitor of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) replication in cell culture (IC50 = 200 nM).
