Recombinant, human MAP Kinase 1 mutated to Ala71 and expressed in E. coli. Mutation of Lys71 in ERK1 to an alanine results in a catalytically inactive form of the MAP kinase that can neither autophosphorylate nor phosphorylate other proteins. Suitable for use as a substrate for the detection and quantitation of MEK1 and MEK2.
