Benefit from a savings of 20% or more on the purchase of a new system!*

How it Works

For a number of years, you have been a loyal user and owner of a Merck lab water system built between 2001 and 2009. Your loyalty and trust have contributed to making these systems a laboratory standard for almost two decades. Technology and regulations are continuously evolving, however, and our suppliers have informed us that several spare parts for the obsoleted Elix®, RiOs™, Direct-Q® and AFS® systems produced between 2001 and 2009 might not be available anymore.

To make this change as easy as possible for you, and to thank you for your confidence and continued loyalty, we would like to invite you to take advantage of our new Lab Water Renewal Program. This limited-time transition program is designed to maintain the supply of laboratory-grade water to meet your requirements, and to ensure that as a valued customer you continue to receive the same service and support you have come to expect from MilliporeSigma over the years.

All lab water systems affected by this discontinuation can be found in the Eligible Products section below along with recommended new product solutions. Just scroll over your existing system to discover the benefits of the latest, advanced technologies available in the current water purification systems.

Exclusive offers have been designed to reward your loyalty providing a saving of 20% or more!*

Calibration, Verification and Suitability Tests for Water Purification Systems

The choice between a MilliporeSigma single field Verification Procedure, a complete Calibration Procedure, or more specifically, USP Suitability Tests is made depending on the impact of water on your applications and on the type of accreditation or quality management system that has to be followed. Our Service Support Organization will offer you its expertise in purified water regulations to help you make the most appropriate/suitable choice.

Ensure Reliable Results
Periodic Verification/Calibration of the measuring instruments is vital for Quality Assurance and to guarantee the reliability of data generated.

Assist with Regulatory Compliance
Periodic Verification/Calibration or performance of Suitability Tests is required by regulatory agencies or certification companies. For compliance with regulatory requirements, actions are performed by MilliporeSigma's specially trained engineers and are documented with Standard Operating Procedures, reports and/or protocols. All instruments used during these procedures are calibrated (if required) on a regular basis.

Qualification & Validation
MilliporeSigma offers a Qualification Program for water purification systems. Designed to facilitate laboratory validation procedures, the program includes qualification workbooks with Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), Maintenance Procedures (MP), examples of Performance Qualification (PQ) files, and certificates of Conformity, Quality and Calibration in support of compliance with GLP* and cGMP**. These Qualification protocols are carried out by MilliporeSigma's specially trained and certified Field Service Engineers.

In addition, some of the new MilliporeSigma Lab Water Systems now have electronic data registration protocols compliant with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I change systems?

There are two main reasons why you should consider replacing your MilliporeSigma Lab Water system now.

Firstly, several spare parts specific to your system are no longer manufactured by our suppliers. Should one of these parts break, we may not be able to repair the system. You would then find yourself without purified water and would have to find a solution in a state of emergency. Therefore, we propose that you anticipate and replace your aged MilliporeSigma Lab Water system to avoid any disruption to your lab operations. In addition, special offers have been created to make the transition easier during a limited period.

Secondly, your MilliporeSigma Lab Water system is at least 10 years old. As you are aware, many technologies have evolved during this period, and the new systems available today offer more convenience, more reliability and more advanced communication capabilities. Contact your MilliporeSigma representative to find out what we have developed in the last 10 years and how it can help you to make your daily lab operations easier and more effective.
What happens to the remaining consumables that I may have?

You may continue to use these consumables on the existing system until you purchase a new Lab Water system. Some of your remaining consumables will fit on the new system and some will not. Please contact your MilliporeSigma representative to find out.
Will my service contract still be effective if I change systems?

Regular preventive maintenance of your water purification system is the most efficient way of ensuring optimal water quality and system reliability. Our Field Sales Specialists will help you determine the appropriate maintenance plan to fit your needs. And, rest assured that all service contracts will remain effective up and through the expiration date stated in the original service agreement. For more information, please contact your Field Sales Specialist.
Are the new systems compliant with current standards?

Some Standards have evolved in the past 12 years since you have purchased your present Lab Water system. The new MilliporeSigma Lab Water systems are fully compliant with the demands specific to your field of activity. Reports are available demonstrating compliance of the pure or ultrapure water produced with norms such as ASTM, ISO, USP, EP and JP. If you operate in a regulatory-driven environment, we can provide water systems with certificates of conformity and calibration, and consumables with certificates of quality. MilliporeSigma also offers a Qualification Program for water purification systems. MilliporeSigma's specially trained and certified customer care engineers will support you to carry out those Qualification protocols. In addition, some of the new MilliporeSigma Lab Water systems now have electronic data registration protocols compliant with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.

Are the new systems environmentally friendly?

Sustainability is a core part of the way business is conducted at MilliporeSigma. Manufacturing processes have been modified in order to reduce energy and water consumption and to find new uses for production materials that would otherwise become waste. Through customer collaboration, MilliporeSigma has found ways to minimize packaging and manage the environmental impact of products through their entire life cycle and will continue to take steps to reduce consumption of non-renewable resources, eliminate waste and adopt behavioral changes that support long-term sustainability.
Do the new water purification systems have electronic record keeping for the lab’s operations?

MilliporeSigma offers advanced electronic monitoring and tracking of the complete operations of a customer lab’s water purification system(s) through Millitrack® software. This unique software allows a lab user to have real-time remote control access, diagnostics and monitoring of the operations of their water purification system(s) all via the web. This includes system status, configuration, instant quality parameters, settings, identification and a system Dashboard.

In addition, with the introduction of Millitrack® Compliance in 2012, MilliporeSigma now offers an advanced, real-time electronic software solution that is compliant with FDA Title 21 CFR Part 11. For more information, please contact your Field Sales Specialist.
