          Key Applications Frozen Sections
          Immunoblotting (Western Blotting)
          Immunoprecipitation
          Paraffin Sections
          Application NotesFrozen Sections (5-10 µg/ml)
          Immunoblotting (5 µg/ml)
Immunoprecipitation (10 µg/mg protein from lysate)
          Paraffin Sections (5-10 µg/ml, heat pre-treatment required)
Application CommentsStaining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min. Does not cross-react with Factor XIIIa, keratinocyte TGase I, fibrinogen, fibronectin, collagen, or actin. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the optimal working dilution.

DescriptionProtein A purified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes the ~77-85 kDa transglutaminase II protein.
BackgroundTransglutaminases are a family of enzymes that catalyze calcium-dependent post-translational modification of proteins by formation of an isopeptide bond within or between polypeptide chains. Transglutaminase II has been implicated in programmed cell death, signal transduction, drug-resistance, cell growth, endocytosis, insulin secretion, cell adhesion, cataract formation, and wound healing.
