      DescriptionAnti-Pex14 (peroxisomal membrane marker) Antibody
      Alternate Names
      • Peroxisomal membrane protein PEX14
      • PTS1 receptor-docking protein
      • Peroxin-14
      • Peroxisomal membrane anchor protein PEX14
Background InformationPeroxisomal membrane protein 14 (PEX14) is a component of the peroxisomal translocation machinery. It interacts with PEX19 and PEX13, and functions as the peroxisomal membrane docking factor for PEX5. The PEX7-PTS2 complex also docks at PEX14 indirectly via PEX5L, the longer isoform of PEX5. Defects in PEX14 result in peroxisome biogenesis disorder complementation group K and Zellweger syndrome.

      Key Applications
      • Western Blotting
      • Immunocytochemistry
Application NotesWestern Blot Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected PEX14 (peroxisomal membrane marker) in 10 µg of human liver tissue lysate.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A representative lot from an independent laboratory detected PEX14 (peroxisomal membrane marker) in Pex14p-transfected CHO cells (Pinto, M. P., et al. 2006. J Biol Chem. 281(45):34492-34502.).
