Background InformationThe protein currently named Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase-like 1 (PPlase) or alternatively in older literature Rotamase PPIL1 and encoded by the human gene named PPIL1 or CYPL1 is a cytoplasmic endoplasmic reticulum associated protein present in all tissues but abundant in muscle tissue that assists in the folding of proteins. PPIL1 is part of the cyclophilin family of peptidylprolyl isomerases. PPIL1 catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of protein imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides. PPIL1 also is a specific component of human 35 S U5 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein particle and 45 S activated spliceosome. It is recruited by SKIP, another essential component of 45 S activated spliceosome, into spliceosome just before the catalytic step 1 of RNA splicing, and thus PPIL1 is critical for RNA processing as well. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-PPIL1 rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blot on NIH3T3 cell extracts and in paraffin embedded immunohistochemistry on human colon cancer tissue sections.

      Storage and Shipping Information
Storage ConditionsStable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
