      • mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase 1
Background InformationMEKK1 (also known as Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase, MEK Kinase or MAP Kinase Kinase Kinase) is member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family and is a target in the JNK and ERK pathways. Phosphorylation of MEKK1 works with other kinases to activate cellular responses to mitogenic and metabolic stimuli.

      • PC3 cell lysate
PresentationPurified rabbit polyclonal in borate buffered saline, pH 8.4, with no preservatives.
ApplicationDetect MEKK1 using this Anti-MEKK1 Antibody validated for use in WB, IH(P).
      Key Applications
      • Western Blotting
      • Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin)
      Biological Information
ImmunogenKLH-conjugated synthetic peptide corresponding to mouse MEKK1.
ConcentrationPlease refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
SpecificityThis antibody recognizes MEKK1. Antibody recognizes ~78 kDa and 180 kDa, corresponding to the apparent molecular masses of MEKK1 protein and cleaved CT fragment when assessed by Western blotting analysis. Other cross reactive bands are detected on immunoblot analysis. Based on predicted sequence homologies, no cross-reactivity with MEKK22 or MEKK3 is expected.

      UniProt Number
UniProt SummaryFUNCTION: Component of a protein kinase signal transduction cascade. Activates the ERK and JNK kinase pathways by phosphorylation of MAP2K1 and MAP2K4. Activates CHUK and IKBKB, the central protein kinases of the NF-kappa-B pathway.
      CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: ATP + a protein = ADP + a phosphoprotein.
      COFACTOR: Magnesium.
ENZYME REGULATION: Activated by autophosphorylation on Thr-1400 and Thr-1412 following oligomerization.
SUBUNIT STRUCTURE: Binds both upstream activators and downstream substrates in multimolecular complexes through its N-terminus. Oligomerizes after binding MAP4K2 or TRAF2. Interacts with AXIN1.
      PTM: Autophosphorylated By similarity.
SEQUENCE SIMILARITIES: Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. STE Ser/Thr protein kinase family. MAP kinase kinase kinase subfamily.
      Contains 1 protein kinase domain.
      Contains 1 RING-type zinc finger.
      Contains 1 SWIM-type zinc finger.
      Molecular Weight78/180 kDa
