      • LPA-3
      • Lysophosphatidic acid receptor Edg-7
      • LPAR3
Background InformationLysophosphatidic acid receptor 3 (LPA receptor 3/EDG7) is a G-protein coupled receptor that interacts with Gi and Gq proteins and activates the MAP kinase pathway. It is highly expressed in the prostate, pancreas, testes, heart, ovary, and lung. However, it is not detected in brain, liver, placenta, kidney, intestine, and muscle tissue. The LPA receptor mediates a number of cellular processes such as growth, apoptosis, cell migration, and cytoskeleton changes. Higher expression of LPAR3 has been linked to fibrosarcoma and osteosarcoma.
