PLA & PLGA Polymers for Modified-Release Kinetics


Poly (D,L-lactic acid) (PLA) and poly (D,L-lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA) biodegradable polymers provide better control over the release kinetics of final drug products. This improvement in control has been leveraged in a variety of different applications.

Additionally, nano- and microsphere formulations based on PLGA polymers are studied intensively for the injectable delivery of peptides, therapeutic proteins, hormones and antibiotics.
